We said “we want change”

Some said “we need change”

All said “they ought to change”

We blame them, we curse them…we scowl we protest! So the almighty gave us the power. He gave us the freedom to choose. A democratic nation, which gives us this responsibility to find  honest leaders who would clean up the dirt . A bunch of brave patriots, who would straighten up the flaws.

Ample number of times have we been reminded of the importance of usage our democratic rights. But it’s our “right”…correct? We wish not to use it! Stay indifferent as ever.

Stay numb like what has been happening for years. The 4 day holiday tempted everyone to run away from the scorching heat. And here we are… still at the same place.

Those who wanted to vote didn’t find their names. And those whose names appeared never bothered to turn up!

Yet again we have lived up to the mark…a 40% .

We have developed a thick impenetrable skin that is so hard, that it doesn’t matter how severe the circumstances get…we will cope with it.

Bad drainage…floods, deaths, disruption…we’ll manage.

Terrorist attacks…deaths, deplorable security service…chalta hai.

Super bumpy roads…road accidents, unsatisfactory traffic management…big deal!

The other day, I was (as usual) stuck in one of the many traffic jams. The reason this time was construction of a flyover. I happened to glance over the boards that covered the area. It was a sept 2006 plan. And this incident took place a month back.

We know our nation needs our support. We also knew this was a perfect time to show that we care!

We know that the system is inefficient. We know that we need change.

We know everything. But all we do is seal our mammothic knowledge in a box when it comes to taking an action.

The most startling fact is that even after all that happened in Mumbai. The fury among the masses, the innumerable petitions, the slogans, everything simply sublimated in thin air.

What more can I add!

Let’s hope for the best. Pray that a wind of change strikes our nation to alleviate poverty, misery and lead the country to prosperity.
